TRAINING AND WORKSHOPS · AREA 03

Management training
and leading teams.

For new and experienced managers, and teams improving how they work together.

Management training develops the everyday work of a leader: delegating tasks, motivating employees, giving feedback and following through on agreements. We work with both new and experienced managers. Workshops also cover inspiring people, developing independence and cooperation within and between teams.

The manager's workshop

How do you set clear expectations, delegate and monitor results while developing people's independence? This workshop helps managers organise their daily work with the team. Participants practise setting goals, choosing priorities and assigning tasks with clear results, deadlines, standards and authority. They consider when an employee needs instructions, support or room to decide, and how to monitor progress without taking over.

We work on motivation through meaningful tasks, recognition, development and an approach suited to the individual. Inspiring others involves clear direction, setting an example and inviting suggestions. We practise explaining requirements, giving feedback and responding to missed commitments. Participants prepare working agreements and actions they can apply with their teams.

Management skills in practice

An employee loses engagement, avoids responsibility or fails to deliver despite repeated conversations. This workshop works through situations like these. Managers analyse their decisions, delegation and responses to difficulties. They examine what is really behind the employee's behaviour and which management actions help the person return to independent work.

We practise conversations about motivation, performance and development, giving feedback and setting expectations. We work on encouraging solutions, asking development questions and recognising progress. We also address conflict and communicating difficult decisions. Each participant applies the tools to a real challenge and prepares a specific employee or team conversation.

Teamwork and assertive communication

Unspoken expectations, competing priorities and unclear responsibilities can hinder cooperation even among capable people. This workshop helps identify those obstacles and agree how to work together. Participants analyse information flow, expectations of other departments and situations where a task gets stuck between people. We use examples from their everyday interactions.

We practise active listening, clear requests, assertive refusal and raising concerns. Participants develop feedback skills, explain differences and reach agreements. We examine what strengthens mutual support, engagement and willingness to share ideas. The result is a set of practical communication rules, clear responsibilities and agreements for recurring problems.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Practical questions about training

How can managers delegate without tasks coming back to them?

Delegation requires agreement on the result, standard, deadline and level of independence. Managers also practise setting review points and planning responses to difficulties. They consider when an employee needs support and when the manager is taking over out of habit.

How can we motivate a team beyond pay rises and bonuses?

We examine what affects individual engagement: meaningful work, influence, independence, development and recognition. Managers prepare conversations about employees' needs and expectations. We look for actions within the manager's everyday control.

What if an employee does not follow through on agreements?

We first check whether expectations were clear and what is preventing completion. Participants practise fact-based conversations, exploring causes and agreeing next steps. We combine support with clear requirements, responsibility and a way to check delivery.

Is the training suitable for new managers?

Yes. The manager's workshop covers the foundations of the role, work planning, delegation and communicating expectations. For more experienced managers, Management skills in practice focuses on specific situations. In both cases, we adapt tasks to participants' actual responsibilities.
